- Nonstick pans OK in new tests. A study conducted by Consumer Reports found very little perfluoroocatnoic acid (PFOA), a known carcinogen used in making nonstick coating, in the air when pans were heated to moderate temperatures.
- Cheers! Which country drinks the most alcohol per person per year? According to the World Health Organization, the tiny country of Luxembourg drinks more than 15.5 liters of alcohol per person per year. Ireland comes in at second place with 13.3 liters per person.

- U.S. bird species in decline. The populations of twenty different common American bird species are half of what they were 40 years ago according to a new study conducted by the National Audubon Society.
- Computer industry aims to cut carbon footprint. Organized by Google and Intel, the Climate Savers Computing Initiative aims to conserve energy and decrease global warming emissions by making computers and servers more energy-efficient.

- Disposing of antifreeze. After listening to the show on disposing of hazardous materials, he was shocked (as were Dori and Val) to hear that antifreeze could be disposed of by pouring it down the toilet. He did a little research and found that the EPA does not recommend disposing of antifreeze this way. A better option is to take you excess antifreeze to be recycled at a vehicle repair shop.
- Bringing green to the classroom. Annie is a new second grade teacher and was looking for some hip, fun, green lesson plans. Val recommends Green Teacher magazine. You might also want to check out EekoWorld and DiscoverySchool.com.
- Toy recall. Doug wanted to make sure everyone knew that about 1.5 million units of various Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway toys have been voluntarily recalled by the RC2 Corp. due to lead poisoning hazard.
