Since Dr. Zhengrong Shi founded the Chinese solar PV module manufacturer Suntech Power in 2001, the company has seen exponential growth. In just five years, Suntech has become the second largest solar manufacturer in the world, with about 325 MW of output expected this year.

Dr. Shi joins us this week to talk about why Suntech keeps its manufacturing facilities in China, the implications for ending the silicon shortage, his outlook for the PV cost curve and where he believes the Chinese and U.S. solar markets are going over the next decade.
