“Political will is necessary but not sufficient” to achieve sustainable development, WBCSD President Björn Stigson said at a recent conference in Oslo. “The painful choices will require partnerships than can create trust for the difficult trade-offs that we need to make to create a sustainable future. No part of society can do this on their own; we are in this together. We cannot as business succeed in a society that fails, and therefore we want to actively contribute to solutions to the challenges that society is facing.”
